The Laval Rouge et Or claimed their third straight victory of the season with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-17) win over the Tigers on Saturday in Quebec City.

Rouge et Or started off the first set strong, with two aces from Charles St-Aubin (Joliette, QC), three kills from Jonothan Girard (Donnacona, QC), and four kills from Max Losier (Ottawa, ON). Michael Donovan (London, ON) put some points on the board for the Tigers with two kills and Lucas Condon-Oldreive (Halifax, NS) added two more.

The Tigers seemed to come alive in the second set, trading points with the Rouge et Or early on. Big kills from Donovan and Condon-Oldreive as well as timely errors from the Rouge et Or kept it close. Laval started to pull away with Losier finding the floor several times in the middle of the set. The Rouge et Or closed it out, winning the set 25-16.

The third set started out much the same as the second, with the Tigers and keeping the Rouge et Or within striking distance. Attack errors and kills by Nicolas Fortin plagued the Tigers early or else it could have been the Tigers with the lead. Losier and Fortin went to work in the second half of the set, leading the Rouge et Or to a 25-17 win.

Donovan ended the game with 7 kills, followed closely by Condon-Oldreive and Ted Graveson (Burnaby, BC) with five a piece. Losier was the leading scorer for the Rouge et Or with 19 kills. Fortin added 10 in support.

The Tigers record now sit at a seasonal record of 2-8 while Rouge et Or improved their record to 7-8 for this season.

The Tigers will host Montréal on Friday January 27 at 8 pm. Next up for Laval is a match against Sherbrooke at 7:30 pm on Friday January 20.
