Laval tops Dal in men's volleyball action

Ethan Boyd (Summerside, PE) was the top performer for the Tigers in their 3-0 loss to the Laval Rouge et Or Friday night night in Quebec.
Despite Laval's 3-0 sweep, it was a very tightly contested match with set scores of 25-23, 26-24 and 25-21 in favour of the Rouge et Or.
Boyd had 11 kills, six digs and five block assists for a total of 16.5 points. Bruce Aku (Winnipeg, M.B.) addd eight kills and five digs.
Nicolas Fortin led the way for Laval with a match-high 17 kills. Rouge et Or setter Ethan Ellison recored 37 assists and eight digs.
Tigers Setter Quinton Dowling (Waterloo, Ont.) earned 24 assists and 10 digs in the effort, while Malachy Shannon (Halifax, N.S.) added 10 digs of his own.
