Hughes commits for the 2024/25 season!

Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey head coach Chris Donnelly is pleased to announce the commitment of Paul Hughes for the 2024-25 season.

Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Hughes played for the Summerside Western Capitals in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) this past season. In his 52 games for the Capitals, the right winger recorded 60 points leading his team to a first place finish in the regular season. The Capitals lost the League Final series versus the Miramichi Timberwolves last week.

Previously, Hughes played 106 games over two seasons for the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

“I am excited to continue my hockey career and further my education at Dalhousie,” says Hughes. “I’ve heard nothing but great things about the city and can’t wait for the fall.”

Hughes will be studying commerce at Dalhousie.

“Paul plays hard and competes in every part of the game,” says Donnelly. “He comes with high praise from everyone that knows him, and we are looking forward to having this quality person join our program.”

The Tigers are looking to improve on their 7-21-2 record from the 2023-24 season.
