UNB beat Dalhousie 6-2 in men's hockey action on January 28, at the Halifax Forum.

The REDS started the game off on the offensive as they peppered Dalhousie goaltender Connor Hicks (Kanata, ON) from the moment the puck dropped. Hicks and the Tigers defence did their best to turn away UNB's scoring chances but midway through the period the REDs finally broke through as Brady Gilmour (Grafton, ON) scored off of his own rebound. UNB took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

The REDs extended their lead early in the second period as Cody Morgan (Gilford, ON) and Jason Willms (Kitchener, ON) scored back-to-back goals to give UNB some breathing room. UNB continued to pressure the Tigers throughout the period, as they managed to get nearly twice as many shots on goal.

UNB kept rolling to start the third aa Willms added another goal to stretch the lead out even further. Dalhousie would not give up though, and shortly after they managed to capitalise on a powerplay as Matt Green (Hammonds Plains, NS) broke up REDS goaltender Griffen Outhouse's (Williams Lake, BC) shutout.

Emmett Sproule (Collingwood, ON) and Isaac Nurse (Hamilton, ON) chipped in a couple more for the REDS while Liam Peyton (Halifax, NS) added another for the Dalhousie, as UNB walked away with the win.

Willms, earned  Subway player of the game honours for UNB thanks to his impressive two-goal night.

The Reds now sit at 21-3 on the season while Dalhousie drops to 6-18. The Tigers will be back in action this Wednesday when they host the UPEI Panthers. UNB will have a week to prepare for their next opponent, the Acadia Axemen, as the two squads will face off next Friday night.
