It was hard to know what to expect from tonight's game as two mid-table teams in the league standings faced off, with the Saint Mary's Huskies taking on their rival Dalhousie Tigers, in a game the fans had marked on their calendars. The Tigers last game saw them roar back against the Acadia Axemen, scoring five unanswered goals, for a 6-3 win. The Huskies last game saw them secure a comfortable 4-1 win at home against the UPEI Panthers.

From puck drop in the first period the sparks were flying in front of a packed house, eager to see the two Halifax teams meet on the ice. Logan Johnston struck first, three minutes into the game, putting the Tigers up 1–0. The Huskies were quick to fire back at Dalhousie, scoring two back-to-back goals within 30 seconds of each other, by Cedric Ralph and Bradey Johnson. The Tigers closed out the high scoring period with a goal from Liam Peyton to tie the frame up at 2 apiece.

The Tigers came out of the dressing room after the intermission with a head of steam, with Derek Gentile scoring the first of two goals on the period, putting the Tigers ahead 4-2 by the middle of the second period. Jonathan Hampton scored a brilliant shorthanded goal for the Huskies before the end of the period to draw the Huskies closer, ending the period 4-3.

The third period, much like the first two, was another high scoring affair which saw the Huskies scoring a powerplay goal by Nathan Dunkley, and Dalhousie putting the finishing touches with two goals, from Josh Wainman and Barret Kirwin to seal the game for the Tigers in a 6-4 victory.

The Subway Player of the Game was Dalhousie's Derek Gentile, who scored two goals, and assisted on another.

With the loss, the Huskies record goes to 4-4-1 on the season. They next face-off against StFX in Antigonish tomorrow night, November 6th. Puck drop at 7pm.

With the win, the Tigers record goes to 4-5-1 on the season. They next face-off against StFX in Antigonish on November 10th at 7pm.
