Huntley commits to Tigers for 2020-21 season

Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey head coach Chris Donnelly is pleased to announce the commitment of Christian Huntley for the 2020-21 season.

A Halifax, N.S. native, Huntley was a member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Maritime division winning team, the Moncton Wildcats. During his season and a half with the Wildcats, the defenceman tallied seven goals and 24 assists in 93 games.

Before the Wildcats, Huntley played 210 games in three and a half seasons with the Quebec Remparts, earning 91 points during his time there. Huntley will be joining fellow 2015 Canada Winter Games Nova Scotia teammate, Derek Gentile, at Dalhousie.

“I am excited to be playing hockey and going to school in my hometown again,” says Huntley. “I can’t wait to get things started!”

A Marcel-Robert Trophy nominee for the QMJHL’s Scholastic Player of the Year, Huntley will be studying commerce at Dalhousie.

“Christian is a veteran defenceman with over 300 games played during his QMJHL career and he was the captain of Nova Scotia Canada Games team in 2015,” says Donnelly. “We are excited to be able to bring his experience, leadership and character to our program. Christian plays an intelligent game and is a very skilled player who can play in all situations and his competitive nature allows him to play an aggressive game.”
