A three-goal and two-assists performance by Maxime St-Cyr led the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (8-5-3=19pts, 3rd position) to a 7-2 win over Dalhousie University Tigers (3-11-2=8pts, 7th position), Saturday in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game in front of over 500 spectators at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
Moncton jumps into third spot in the standings with the two weekend wins. Robbie Graham added two goals and the same number of assists for the Blue and Gold. Danick Crète and Alexis Roy completed the scoring. Gabriel Vanier and Joey Richard each contributed two assists. Étienne Montpetit made 25 saves for the win in nets and Connor Hicks saw 29 pucks for the loss. Cameron Thompson, in the first and Jonathan Cyr in the third and both on the power play, were able to get the puck behind goaltender Montpetit. The score was 1-1 after the first period and Moncton led 3-1 after 40 minutes. Dalhousie was 2 for 7 on the power play and Moncton, 2 for 5, the goals by St-Cyr and Roy.
The Blue and Gold team will end its first semester next weekend with two games in Nova Scotia, in Halifax and Wolfville.
