Moncton takes 6-1 win over Dalhousie

On Friday, November 13, the Dalhousie Tigers fell 6-1 to the Moncton Aigles Bleus in regular season action. With more than 700 supporters in attendance at the J. Louis-Levesque arena, Moncton came away with a strong win over Dalhousie.

The first period started slowly with the first goal of the game scored 19 minutes in by Jean-Francois Plante, assisted by Danny Chiasson and Alex Noel. Dalhousie had 14 shots compared to Moncton's 10, but the Tigers were unable to finish their plays with a goal. The first period ended with the Aigles Bleus in the lead at a score of 1-0 over the Tigers.

Ten minutes into the second period, Dalhousie's Jackson Playfair (Fort St. John, BC) finished a power play with a goal for the Tigers which tied up the score. Teammates Myles McGurty (Hoboken, NJ) and JP Harvey (Cole Harbour, NS) made the assist to Playfair for Dalhousie's one and only goal of the game.

Only minutes later, Moncton's Alex Noel took back the lead for the Aigles Bleus with a short-handed goal off of an assist made by Danick Emond. Just over a minute was left in the second period, when Alex Saulnier secured the Aigles Bleus' win with a third goal from a power play.  Teammates Alex Emond and Allain Saulner helped with the assist for the last goal of the period which ended with Moncton in the lead at 3-1 over Dalhousie.

The Aigles Bleus started the third and final period quickly. Allain Saulnier made the assist to Samuel Roussy who finished with a goal 2 minutes into the period.  Thirteen minutes in, Marc-Anthony Therrien scored Moncton's fifth goal of the game and when there was under a minute left to play, Robbie Graham, of the Aigles Bleus, scored the final goal of the period and of the game.

Moncton was able to finish their shooting opportunities very well. The Aigles Bleus only had eight shots in the third period and managed to score three of those. On the other side, Dalhousie had 14 shots throughout the third period, but they were unable to turn any of those shots into goals. The game ended at a score of 6-1 for Moncton over Dalhousie.

Dalhousie's (3-6-2) next game was on Saturday November 14 against St. Thomas (0-10-1). The game ended in shootouts and Dalhousie finished with a 1-0 win. The Tigers' next game will be a home game at the Forum on Friday, November 20th at 7pm against UPEI (5-5-1). Moncton (6-4-1) will play again on November 20th against Acadia (8-2-1).
