Tigers add Christie for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of Jacob Christie for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Christie has played for Fredericton High School’s varsity team for the last three years. In 2023, the 6’5 guard, and his teammates won the provincial championship. Christie was named an all-Canadian at nationals in 2022 as well as an all-Atlantic underage player in 2024.
Following in his older brother’s footsteps, Christie says, “The idea of becoming a Tiger has been planted in my brain ever since my brother started playing at Dal four years ago. Watching how the guys interact with each other, the intensity everyone brings, not only to games but everyday to practice, are all reasons why I can’t wait to get started at Dal.”
An honours student, Christie will be studying kinesiology at Dalhousie.
“Widely considered one the very best high school seniors in Atlantic Canada, we are delighted to have the second Christie from Fredericton High,” says Plato. “Jacob is a multi-talented player who will look to play both the shooting guard and point guard positions. I believe Jacob’s biggest asset is his perimeter shooting. His 3-point prowess will represent a huge upgrade, and I truly believe Jacob has the ability and work ethic to match the production of former Dal all-Canadians. Tiger nation is looking forward to Jacob’s immediate impact in the fall.”
The Tigers currently hold a 5-10 record with six games left to go in the AUS regular season.
