The Dalhousie Tigers topped the hometown Memorial Sea-Hawks, 81-53.

The Hawks had a quick start to the game, going on a 7-0 run. Dalhousie rallied and weathered the early run, coming back with their own 7-2 run. The Hawks contained the Tigers for the first ten minutes, keeping their opportunities to a minimum.

The second quarter was all Dalhousie with the Hawks scored just seven points. The Tigers put up 21 in the final frame of the first half, leading 39-24. For the Hawks, Daniel Foo (#6) posted 11 in the first half, struggling from the line however, converting just 1/4. Dalhousie had balanced scoring, with no one player beyond double digits, but multiple players contributing.

The rest of the game was all Dalhousie. They completely dominated the Hawks on both ends of the floor. The Hawks consistently turned the ball over to the Tigers, as well as missing plenty of opportunities when they had their chances.

Sascha Kappos (#14) led the way for Dalhousie with 22 points, earning Subway Player of the Game commendations. Alex Carson added 15 points while Keevan Veinot, Marley Blommers and Shamar Burrows each netted nine. For Memorial, Boris Ristanovic (#12) posted 15 points. The scoring was relatively balanced for both teams, but Dalhousie converted on far more opportunities than the Hawks, pushing them forward throughout the game.

Memorial will look to split the series tomorrow. All Sea-Hawks home games are available at austv.ca
