(HALIFAX N.S.) - The Tigers men's basketball team were on the road for more preseason action this past weekend at Brock University for the 2016 Brock RBC Tournament. The squad recorded two wins in their first two games at the tournament, but received a loss in Sundays final matchup.

On Friday October 21, the Tigers started the tournament off strong with an 84-59 win over the York Lions. The point leaders for the Tigers were Jarred Reid and Alex Carson, each tallying a total of 17 points. The Tigers also displayed some excellent defense in this opening game, causing the Lions offense to turn over the ball 31 times.

The second game held on Saturday October 22 was the first preseason loss for the host Brock Badgers as the Tigers defeated them 74-72. The notable point leader for the Tigers this game was power forward Sascha Kappos. Kappos recorded 15 points in total, three of which came from thunderous dunks on the Badgers defense. The victory did not come to the Tigers easily since the squad overcame a nine-point half-time deficit to outscore Brock by 11 points in the second half.

The Windsor Lancers handed the Tigers their first loss in six games at the final battle of the 2016 Brock RBC Tournament. This was the second loss for the Tigers so far in preseason action - their current record is 9-2.

The Tigers men's basketball team will return to the court on Thursday October 27 against the Acadia Axemen. The exhibition game will be held at the Scotiabank Centre in downtown Halifax at 8 pm.
