(St. John's, NL) The Memorial Sea-Hawks kept their playoff hopes alive with a win over the first-place Dalhousie Tigers on Sunday afternoon at The Field House. 

Memorial was able to get out to a better start today, as they took the first quarter by a score of 21-14. Caleb Gould led the way for Memorial with eight points in the opening frame, while six other Sea-Hawks registered points to help give them the lead.

Dalhousie was able to refocus after the first and relied on their defense to get them back into the game. The Tigers held the Sea-Hawks to just nine points in the second quarter and were able to go into the half with a 32-30 advantage.

In the third, Memorial took back the lead, as Noel Moffatt scored 11 points and registered two steals in just five minutes of play. Memorial would go into the final frame up six points and would be able to hold onto that led, despite a gritty effort by the visiting Tigers.

It took a balanced attacked for the Sea-Hawks to get by the first-place Tigers, as four players scored in double figured. Vasilije Curcic led the way with 16 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Caleb Gould was right behind with 14 points and three rebounds. Noel Moffatt provided 13 points off the bench and also pulled down six rebounds.

The Tigers got contributions up and down the line-up. Sven Stammberger scored 15 points, hauled down eight rebounds, and also had three assists, and two steals in a losing effort. Jordan Aquino-Serjue and Kashrell Lawrence both scored 11 points, while combining for nine rebounds.

The Sea-Hawks are on the road to take on the UPEI Panthers, in an eight-point weekend, while Dalhousie returns home to face the Cape Breton Capers.
