(SYDNEY, N.S.)- The Cape Breton University Capers shook off their loss to UPEI last weekend and improved to 7-1 at Sullivan Fieldhouse with a big win over the Dalhousie Tigers on Friday night. The Capers were in control throughout the game, defeating the Tigers by a score of 91-64.

Akeem Isaac-Phillip continued to make his presence known in the Capers offence on Friday night with game-high 25 points, to go along with four rebounds and five assists.

Aside from Isaac-Phillip, Cape Breton had a balanced offensive attack. Cedric Kasongo had 13 points, while Seth Amoah had 12 points which included a big dunk for CBU.

Meschack Lufile played limited minutes in the first half after committing two personal fouls early in the first quarter, however he bounced back a bit in the second half. Lufile finished with 10 points, going 4-6 from the field.

Kashrell Lawrence led the way for Dalhousie with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Sven Stammberger contributed with 11 points. John Traboulsi came off the bench and scored 10 points for the Tigers.

The Capers were in control throughout the first half, and took a 41-31 lead into the break. CBU's stellar first half was sparked by two amazing "and-ones" from point guard, Akeem Isaac-Phillip to get the Capers on the board.

In the second half, the Capers rode a huge fourth quarter to a victory over the Dalhousie Tigers. The Capers won the fourth quarter 32-14 and had contributions from their entire team.

The win moved the Capers to 8-8 on the season, sitting in fourth place  in the AUS behind third place Dalhousie. Cape Breton has a big rematch against Dalhousie tomorrow afternoon at Sullivan Fieldhouse. Saturday's game is set for 4 p.m.
