Carleton shoots the lights out, win 92-47 over the Tigers
The Carleton Ravens powered their way to a 92-47 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers tonight at the Dalplex.
The Carleton Ravens didn't need to wait to show why they are the reigning CIS champions. Ravens forward Thomas Scrubb started the game off with a deep 2 followed by a three by star point guard Phillip Scrubb. The Ravens continued to dominate with their sharpshooting abilities and strong defensive rebounding, ending the quarter at 33-10.
Dalhousie's offense looked disjointed early and committed three consecutive turnovers to start the second half. Carleton found their shooting streak and quickly piled on 13 points on the Tigers, who didn't have an answer for Phillip Scrubb and the Ravens. Kashrell Lawrence came off the bench and provided instant energy, getting a steal and drawing two fouls.
Dave Smart's Ravens led from the beginning and never let up. Phillip Scrubb led the way for the Ravens with 17 points, including five three-pointers. The Tigers battled hard but were simply outmatched by a strong Carleton team. Kashrell Lawrence had a team-high 9 points for the Tigers and provided lots of energy off the bench.
The Tigers are back in action on Saturday as they take on the UQAM Citadins at 7:00pm.
