(Halifax, NS) – In Friday night action, the Dalhousie Tigers hosted the Mount Allison Mounties at Wickwire field. It was a one sided match in this one, with the Tigers taking a 6-0 win.

The action started early with the Tigers opening the scoring just minutes into the match. After a very nice turn and chip across the field by Kallen Heenan (Dartmouth, NS), Freddy Bekkers (Halifax, NS) took a strike from the edge of the box that was stopped, but the rebound came right back out to him and he was able to tuck the second chance just inside the near post.

Still under the ten-minute mark, the Tigers were able to find another quick goal. Michael Trim (Berwick, NS) sent a nice ball wide down the left sideline for Heenan to collect after beating his defender. Heenan was in all alone against the Mounties keeper and calmly sent his shot into the far side.

Heenan continued to keep himself involved in the attacking end, timing his runs into the box well, and being rewarded once again with the ball at his feet and an open look at the keeper. Heenan sent a hard strike the curled perfectly to the inside post, leaving the keeper with no chance at a play.

Bekkers also collected a second goal of his own in the first half, making a long solo effort to split the back line and get himself in alone.

Michael Cormier (Margaree Valley, NS) certainly had his work cut out for him, stopping a barrage of shots throughout the half, and looking good on ones he was given a chance on.

The Tigers added their fifth goal on a great through by Alex Knesaurek (Toronto, ON) onto the foot of Daniel Pacheco (Stratford, ON) who sent home his first career goal for the Tigers before the whistle blew for half.

The second half was more of the same, in the 64th minute, Michael Trim sent a long cross into the box that was misplayed in front and ended up in the back of the net for the Tigers 6th goal of the match.

As the final whistle blew, it brought an end to a 6-0 final for the Tigers.

Freddy Bekkers earned the Subway Player of the Game title, finishing with two goals in this one, including the game winner.

The Tigers will be back October 13th when they travel to take on StFX, while the Mounties will host Saint Mary's on Sunday.
