(SACKVILLE, NB) The Dalhousie Tigers scored in overtime to defeat the Mount Allison Mounties 2-1 at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre Friday night.

After two scoreless periods, the Mounties opened the scoring at 4:23 of the third period thanks to a bullet from the point by defender Julia Lee (North Vancouver, BC) that went top corner on the powerplay.

The Tigers would counter eight minutes later off the stick of Olivia Eustace (Riverview, NB) to tie the game 1-1.

The final five minutes of the third period saw frantic action as Emma Penner (Niagara on the Lake, ON) hauled down Hailey Simoneau (Milton, ON) and the Mounties were awarded a penalty shot. Not to be beaten, Maggie Baxter (Mahone Bay, NS) would shut the door and keep this game tied.

Both teams would exchange penalties and trade powerplay opportunities but could not solve the keepers and this game needed overtime.

The Mounties could not hold off the Tigers for long as Olivia Eustace (Riverview, NB) would collect her second of the game and send Dalhousie home with the two points on the five-on-three powerplay.

With her ninth and tenth goals on the season, Eustace would go on to be named Subway Player of the Game. Hannah Pagdato (Winnipeg, MB) was terrific in the loss stopping 33 shots while Maggie Baxter (Mahone Bay, NS) turned aside 22 shots in the win.

For their next game, Dalhousie (9-8-1-4) will host the St. Thomas Tommies on Saturday at 7 p.m. Mount Allison (2-16-1-1) will host the St. Mary's Huskies for their Senior Night Game on Saturday at 7 p.m.
