James wins U SPORTS silver medal

Day three of the U SPORTS Track and Field Championships was highlighted by Zach James winning a silver medal in the men's 600m.

Starting the race as the top qualifier, James had to come from behind to cross the line in second place with a time of 1:18.30, just four hundredths of a second behind first place. James follows in his parents, Paula Peters and Edward James, footsteps who were both multi-medalists in this event at the national level. This is also the second fastest time in the event in Dalhousie history.

In Waverley Mulligan's second individual event of the weekend, she crossed the line in a time of 4:27.00 in the 1500m for fourth place. This is the second fastest time in the 1500m in Dalhousie history.

In the field, Maja Husain triple faulted in the women's triple jump and did not record a score. On the men's side Tobi Oshikoya had a best jump of 14.69 to finish in seventh.

In the men's 4x400m relay, the team of Matt Aftanas, Dan Lord, Lukas Rudaitis, and Zach James crossed the line in a time of 3:21.73 for eighth place.
