(Halifax, NS) - The Dalhousie men's volleyball team took on the Laval Rouge et Or Saturday afternoon at the Dalplex. Laval pulled a back-to-back victory against the Tigers this weekend, finishing off both matches at 3-2.

The Tigers started off strong, quickly beating Laval in the first, 25-13.

Taking this momentum into the second set, Sartaj Sidhu (Calgary, AB) kicked things off with an ace for the Tigers and Derrick Ejeckam (Gander, NL) closed out the set with a huge kill. The Tigers won the second set 25-17.

Finding some momentum, Laval fought back during the third set. Down 22-18 after a timeout, the Tigers mounted a comeback in the third set starting with a strong attack from Michael Donovan (London, ON) followed by two consecutive points to bring the score to 22-22 to lash back and fight for the set.

With some great digs from Quinton Dowling (Waterloo, ON), the Tigers closed out the rally with a swing off the block.  Max Losier (Ottawa, ON) sent a serve into the net to tie it back up for the Tigers, at 26-26. Laval and the Tigers traded points before Laval ultimately took the third set, with a score of 32-30.

With some fight back from the Tigers, Laval took the fourth set and finished off the final set 15-13 after a long battle and the Tigers couldn't finish it off the end.

Laval's Max Losier (Ottawa, ON) was honored as player of the game for his contributions.

After beating the Montreal Carabins 3-2 last Friday, Laval came into this weekend's games confidently, defeating the Tigers in both matches. They will take on the UNB Reds next Friday while the Tigers head to Montréal to play the Carabins.
