Murphy comes to the Tigers for his fourth season on the coaching staff after a successful professional career in Asia, (Vietnam, Thailand) Europe (Poland, Czech, Switzerland, Cyprus) and North America (St. John’s Edge, Hamilton Honey Badgers) for the past seven years. He has played two seasons in the CEBL with the Hamilton Honey Badgers in 2019, the Fraser Valley Bandits in 2022 and the Brampton Honey Badgers in 2023. 

Murphy’s focus is on offensive fundamentals, player development and  is the day-to-day coordinator or the boys basketball camp programs.

A former member of the Canadian National team program at the junior, university, and senior levels, he played two seasons with the NCAA Division 1 University of Maine before transferring to Division 1 Colgate University from 2011-2014 where he was a two-time All-Patriot League team member and team captain for the Raiders.

Originally from Waterloo, Ont., he and his wife Carmen reside in Halifax.
