Matt McNeil finishes first at Vic Matthews Invitational

On Saturday, September 19th, the men and women's cross country teams competed in the New Balance Vic Matthews Invitational which took place in Guelph ON.  

For the men's race, Matt McNeil finished the 10km in first place with a time of 31:52, 40 seconds ahead of second place finisher, Ben Workman (University of Guelph). First place for the team title went to University of Guelph with a team score of 33. Joining the Gryphons in the top 5 finishers was Rouge et Or (49), University of Toronto (109), Dalhousie University (114), and Queen's University (119).  

In the women's 6km race, the first place individual title went to University of Toronto Track Club's Rachel Hannah who finished with a time of 20:34. Three of Dalhousie's runners made it into the top ten including Colleen Wilson at 21:59 (5th place), Ellen Chappell with at 22:29 (8th place), and Michelle Reddy at 22:33 (10th place).

The first place for the team title in the women's race went to University of Guelph with a score of 22. Dalhousie followed in second place with a team score of 63. Following in the top five was Rouge et Or (80), University of Toronto (101), and Queen's University (119).

Dalhousie's cross country team's next race will be on Saturday, September 26th at the StFX Invitational in Antigonish, NS.
