Trenke commits to Tigers for 2022-23 season

Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball head coach Rick Scott is pleased to announce the commitment of Kasandra Trenke for the 2022-23 season.

Trenke is a current member and team captain of the Ambrose Lions Volleyball Club, while previously playing for the Cougars Volleyball Club and the Tuscany Sport Association West Volleyball Club. The middle blocker is a multi-medallist in the Alberta Volleyball Association provincial championships, winning silver with TSA West Volleyball Club, and winning gold and bronze with the Ambrose Lions Volleyball Club.

Named the Cochrane High School volleyball team’s most valuable player in 2019-20 and 2020-21, the Calgary, Alberta native was also named most coachable on her TSA West Volleyball Club team three years in a row.

“It has been a goal of mine to come to Dalhousie since I was 14,” says Trenke. “It is amazing how far some dedication and hard work can get you! I can’t wait to play with this amazing group of girls and accomplish many more goals in the future.”

The multi-year honour roll student will be studying microbiology and immunology at Dalhousie.

“Kasandra is a tremendous athlete that is explosive and powerful,” says Scott. “She is both hardworking and coachable and has a real enthusiasm and energy that makes her a great teammate and competitor. With continued hard work and experience she has the potential to make a strong impact with our program. “

The Tigers recently defeated the Saint Mary’s Huskies to earn their ninth-consecutive AUS title.
