Monette anchors Acadia's defence in 3-2 win over UdeM

In the third 5-set match of the Dalhousie women's volleyball invitational the Acadia Axewomen edged out the UdeM Aigles Bleues by a score of 25-17, 21-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15- 7. The win will likely put the Axewomen in the championship game tomorrow against the Dalhousie Tigers.

Sarah Ross led the way again for the Axewomen with 11 kills and 9 digs. On the other side of the net, Moncton's Rachelle Lemoine led all players with 12 kills on 22 total attacks. UdeM got solid offense outside of Lemoine as well with three other players notching 7 kills or more.
Acadia's, Hillary Monette was in impressive form again recording 28 digs over the 5 sets. Catherine Guitard was the Aigles Bleues best defensive player with 18 digs.
UdeM has been unable to grab a win over the weekend losing two 5 set matches and will play Sunday at 11am in the consolation game. Acadia will likely play at 1pm in the championship game against Dalhousie.
