Tough weekend for the Tigers

Tough weekend for the Tigers

It was a less than ideal weekend for the Tigers as they went 0-4 in the first AUS-RSEQ interlock event of the year. In their first contest against Sherbrooke, Anna Dunn-Suen and Mieke Dumont combined for 17 kills but it wasn't enough as they fell 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 24-26, 25-22).

In their next game against McGill, Dunn-Suen and Jane Delahunt each had 12 kills but they just couldn't keep up to the relentless McGill attack and they went down in straight sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-18). Later in the day they faced the Montreal Carabins. After losing two nail-biter sets to begin the game, the Carabins simply outdueled the Tigers in the third set to give them a 3-0 victory (25-21, 25-20, 25-12).

Looking to salvage a victory in their final game against Laval, the Tigers could only manage seven points in the first set. The next two sets were close, but the Rouge et Or sent the Tigers packing with another 3-0 loss (25-7, 25-16, 25-22).

The Tigers will open their regular season on the road against UNB on November 1 at 6:00pm.
