Day 2: Scotiabank Women’s Volleyball Invitational

The second day of the Scotiabank Women's Volleyball Invitational finished with a match between defending AUS champions Dalhousie and Saint Mary's. Battling point for point, the Tigers managed to beat the Huskies and take the first set, 25-19.  SMU came back in the second with huge blocks from Husky Josie LeDuc, last year's AUS volleyball rookie of the year.  A net violation was called on the 16th point, tying up the game for the Tigers.  Dal turned it around and took the set 25-21. Rookie Anna Dunn held her own on the court during the first two sets and looks like a promising addition to CIS volleyball.

With multiple changes to their lineup, SMU didn't want to give up all three sets.  They lead the game until the 20th point when Dal tied it up.  It was back and forth until Dal took the set (25-23) and match with an ace from Tiger Raeesa Lalani.

The Tigers play Cape Breton University tomorrow at 12:00 pm.
