(FREDERICTON, NB) For the second day in a row, the Dalhousie Tigers used a single goal to beat the UNB REDS in Atlantic University Sport women's soccer action.

Elise Evans' (Toronto, ON) goal in the 41st minute stood as the winner in Dal's 1-0 triumph.

Evans was named Subway Player of the Game.

The home team had the first real scoring chance.

In the 11th minute, Heidi Lauwerijssen (Kensington, PE) broke around a Dal defender and fired a shot from inside the 18-yard box. Tigers' keeper Annabel Gravely (Toronto, ON) managed to get a hand on it and her defenders were able to clear the ball away.

In the 26th minute, Dal's Olivia Jack (Stillwater Lake, NS) fired a shot from close range, but REDS keeper Brynn Nash (Saskatoon, SK) made a diving save to deny her.

Evans' goal came on a crossing pass. She muscled a shot between the legs of Nash to give the visitors a 1-0 lead they'd hold the rest of the way.

With the win, Dalhousie is now 2-0-1. The Tigers return home to host Memorial, on Friday.

The REDS fall to 1-2-0 on the season.

UNB goes on the road next weekend. They'll visit Cape Breton on Saturday and STFX on Sunday. Both games are scheduled for 1:00pm starts.
