Tigers add Spencer for 2021-22 season

Dalhousie Tigers women’s soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Charlotte Spencer for the 2021-22 season.

Hailing from Kingston, Ont., Spencer plays for the Kingston Junior Geals Soccer Club. A midfielder, she was the captain of their U18 team who played in the Senior Women’s Ottawa Carleton Soccer League last year.

A four-year member of the honour roll at Kingston Collegiate and Vocational Institute, Spencer was named the girls soccer team MVP in the 2018-19 season.

“I am very excited to have signed with the Dalhousie women’s soccer team,” says Spencer. “The school has such an amazing reputation for both athletics and academics. The coaching staff has been amazing, and I am looking forward to growing as a player and person under Cindy’s guidance. I can’t wait to start this next chapter. Go Tigers!”

Spencer will be studying science while attending Dalhousie.

“Charlotte is coming to us having developed through the Kingston Clippers and Junior Gaels programs,” says Tye. “She has a physical presence with the technical and athletic ability to fit into our style of play. Charlotte is a versatile player that can move anywhere in the midfield and is comfortable as an attacker. A captain with her club team, she has proven character qualities that will transition easily into our environment. Charlotte is also top student, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Tigers!”

The COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the women’s soccer team’s 2020-21 season.
