Tigers add Mansfield for 2021-22 season

Dalhousie Tigers women’s soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Jasper Mansfield for the 2021-22 season.

A centre back, Mansfield has played the last seven years with the Fusion Football Club of the British Columbia Soccer Premier League (BCSPL). She and her Fusion FC teammates were BCSPL finalists in 2019.

A Vancouver, B.C. native, Mansfield is also a member of the Kitsilano Secondary School Premier Girls Soccer team who have won the city championship five years in a row. They went on to place as high as fourth in the provincial championship in those five years. For her work on the field, Mansfield earned a 2019 Kitsilano Secondary School All-Star award as one of their female athletes of the year.

“I am really excited to become a Tiger,” says Mansfield. “I look forward to joining and being an active member of the academic and athletic community at Dalhousie.”

A multi-year member of the Kitsilano Secondary School Principal’s List (90% average or above), Mansfield has been accepted into the biology program at Dalhousie.

“Jasper is a versatile player that can contribute as a centre back and step into the midfield,” says Tye. “Comfortable in possession, she will add to our ability to play out and start the attack. Recognized as leader on her team, she has the tactical awareness to communicate while defending and the physical attributes to build on our presence and win the ball back. An excellent student, we look forward to adding Jasper to the Tigers!”

The COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the 2020-21 season for the women’s soccer team.
