Women's soccer season ends in 4-0 to Memorial

Sydney, NS – The first quarter-final of the 2018 Subway AUS Women's Soccer Championship provided the tournaments first upset. The 6th seeded Memorial Sea-Hawks defeated the 3rd seeded Dalhousie Tigers 4-0.   

The Sea-Hawks received a 1st half goal from Teri Murphy (St.John's, NL), assisted by Maria Mackey (St.John's, NL). They added to their lead in the second half with a goal from Nicole Torraville (St.John's, NL), with the assists to Rachel Kieley (CBS, NL). The Seahawks added to their lead with a 73rd minute goal as Torraville scored her second of the game. Memorial was able to make it 4-0 with a goal by Lauren Taylor( St.John's, NL).  

MUN keeper Sydney Walsh (St.John's, NL) earned the clean sheet and the victory. DAL Keeper Katie Fines (Halifax, NS) took the loss for the Tigers.  

With the win, the Seahawks will now face the host Cape Breton University CAPERS on Friday at 2pm in the semifinals.
