Homerski leads Tigers 1-0 over Huskies

Halifax, NS- The Dalhousie Tigers hosted cross-town rivals, Saint Mary's Huskies on Friday night in AUS women's soccer action. Led by Doriana Homerski the Tigers were able to come away with a crucial 1-0 win securing three points.

Homerski was the standout player in the first half scoring the only goal of the frame. In the 8th minute Homerski rushed her way into the box and made a nice cut back move, freeing herself to rip a left-footed strike to the top portion of the net. Homerski continue the offensive pressure throughout the game has she had multiple scoring chances.

The Tigers went into the locker room holding a 1-0 lead after one half of play. The game was delayed 40 minutes due to thunderstorms.

After the extending break both teams seemed to have lost a step. Dalhousie continued to apply pressure through the half recording 10 corner kicks during the game. The 1-0 lead would hold till the end of the 90 minutes.

Dalhousie keeper, Katie Morgan stopped three shots in the shutout performance while Saint Mary's counter part saved five of six shots sent her way.

The Tigers (3-4-2) host StFX (5-2-1) at Wickwire Field on Sunday, October 18th while the Huskies host Acadia (5-1-2) on Sunday.
