Women’s hockey head coach set to depart Dalhousie

A native of Spryfield, Nova Scotia, Troy Ryan will be transitioning away from Dalhousie’s women’s hockey team this fall to become the head coach of the Toronto-based team of the new Professional Women’s Hockey League.

Ryan assumed the role of head coach of the Tigers women’s hockey team in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in July 2020.

In his three seasons with the Tigers, he helped lead them to back-to-back AUS playoff appearances, highlighted by the program’s first quarter-final win since the 2018 season.

A plan to support this transition is currently being finalized.
