Tigers add Coulter-Vansickle for 2022-23

Dalhousie Tigers women’s hockey head coach Troy Ryan is pleased to announce the commitment of Paige Coulter-Vansickle for the 2022-23 season.

A forward, Coulter-Vansickle suited up this past season for the Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association U22 Elite league. An adjusted season due to the pandemic saw the Ice Wolves finish second in their division with a record of 20-6-2 in the regular season and fourth in the province-wide playoffs.

Previously, the Millbrook, Ontario native played for the Durham West Jr. Lightning of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). Coulter-Vansickle had 10 regular season points in her first year in the PWHL, helping the Lightning to an appearance in the preliminary round of the playoffs, before COVID-19 shut down the season.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Dalhousie community and to meet so many new people,” says Coulter-Vansickle. “Words can’t describe the excitement I have to be a part of the hockey program and play with so many amazing players. I can’t wait for the next four years!”

Coulter-Vansickle will be studying political science at Dalhousie.

“We are excited to welcome Paige to Dalhousie University,” says Ryan. “On the ice, Paige will bring speed, tenacity, and a relentless work ethic to our program. What Paige gives up in size she more than makes up for in character. We are confident that Paige will have an immediate impact on our program both on and off the ice.”

The Tigers return to the ice on October 7, when they host the Mount Allison Mounties at the Halifax Forum to kick off their 2022-23 regular season.
