Dalhousie Tigers women’s hockey head coach Troy Ryan is pleased to announce the commitment of Grace Beer for the 2022-23 season.

Hailing from Oakville, Ontario, Beer plays for the Oakville Hornets U22 AA team of the Ontario Women’s Hockey League. A goalie, she has a goal against average of 1.42 and a save percentage of 0.930 in her two years with the team.

Beer also plays for Appleby College where she backstopped her team to a Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association (CISAA) gold medal in the 2021-22 season.

“I am so excited to become a Tiger and join the women’s hockey program at Dalhousie,” says Beer.

A perennial member of the honour role at Appleby College, Beer will be studying recreation at Dalhousie University.

“We are very excited that Grace chose Dalhousie University, and we believe she will have an immediate impact on our program,” says Ryan. “Having a goalie of Grace’s calibre will strengthen the growth and development of our women’s hockey program.”

The Tigers begin the 2022-23 regular season at home on Friday, October 7 when they host Mount Allison at 7pm.
