Dal Tigers take on the Saint Mary's Huskies in Women's Hockey

Right off of the face off the Saint Mary's Huskies are hungry for the puck, keeping it in the Tigers end. Tigers forward, Jennifer Thompson, takes a rush and is poke checked by Saint Mary's goal tender. Tigers keep the puck in SMU's end battling to free the puck.

Maggie Poliseno, Huskies forward, is called for tripping. The Tigers take advantage of the extra man, and forward, Fielding Montgomery, makes a shot on net getting the first goal of the game.

Saint Mary's forwards make a rush on Dal's net, but are unable to complete the play with Tiger's goalie making a beautiful save. The puck is rushed back to the Huskie's end, and another beautiful save is made by the Huskie's goaltender.

Two minutes into the second period and SMU dominates the puck, forward Haylee Tretiak completes the play and scores the first goal for the Huskies. Dal immediately picks up the pace and rushes the puck into SMU's end finishing the play, Tigers forward gets the goal.

Both teams battle end to end. Tigers manage to gain control of the puck and send it over SMU's blue line. The Tigers complete the dump and chase with a goal by forward, Fielding Montgomery, making it her second goal of the game.

Tiger's defense, Joleen MacInnas, is sent to the box for tripping. To match the penalty Saint Mary's defenseman, Rebecca Moser, is sent to the box for body contact.

After a scramble in front of dal's net, SMU forward, Maggie Poliseno, manages to tip the puck into the net, making it 3-2 for the Tigers.

Tiger's defenseman, Laura Brooks is sent to the box, SMU takes advantage of the power play, making the shot and scoring. Officials and coaches argue that the net was off, and the goal is called off. Face off is held in Dalhousie's end. Saint Mary's once again takes control of the puck and this time clearly gets the goal.

Ten minutes left in the third period and the game continues at even strength.

Tigers forward, Maggie Beaton, makes a rush right out of the bench, with three minutes left in the game. She takes a solid shot and the puck rebounds off of the goalies pad. Without hesitation Beaton picks up the rebound, sending the puck into the Huskie's net, giving the Tigers the lead.

Forty-two seconds left in the third and time-out is called. The time runs out on the clock and the Tigers take the win, making them the top team in the AUS women's hockey league.
