This year’s edition of the Tigers women’s basketball team is a year older and wiser, returning eleven players and adding five newcomers. Leading the way are co-captains fifth-year guard Diedre Alexander (Woodstock, NB) and last season’s top Dalhousie scorer, third-year Robertha Charles (Montréal, QC). 

Joining them are veterans Sophie Gaube (Halifax, NS), Michele Tchiakoua (Montréal, QC), Chelsea Slawter-Wright (Dartmouth, NS), Ashley Cain (Toronto, ON), Karina May (Moncton, NB) and Claire Hickman (St. John’s, NL) who will all look to play even bigger roles on the court this season. Last year’s AUS all-rookie team member Ariel Provo (Lake Echo, NS) returns for her second season to direct the Tigers from the point. She is joined by fellow second-year players Katelyn Scott (Riverview, NB) and Meghan Greenland (St. John’s, NL).

Five fresh faces will suit up in the black and gold for the first time this season. Emily Holt (Halifax, NS) and Riley Sood (Halifax, NS) will add scoring and defence to the Tigers. Lia Kentzler (Göttingen, Germany), is an athletic 6‘1 post who will strengthen the Tigers in the defensive end along with 6‘1 post Bridget McSwiggan (Ottawa, ON). Rounding out a strong recruiting class is versatile 5‘9 guard Hannah Chadwick (Toronto, ON).
