This year’s edition of the Tigers women’s basketball team is a year older and wiser, returning eight players and adding five newcomers. Leading the way are last season’s top team scorer and AUS all-rookie team member Robertha Charles (Montreal, QC) and fourth-year guard Diedre Alexander (Woodstock, NB). 

Joining them are veterans Sophie Gaube (Halifax, NS), Michele Tchiakoua (Montreal, QC) and Ashley Cain (Toronto, ON) who will look to play even bigger roles on the court this season. Second-years Karina May (Moncton, NB) and Claire Hickman (St. John’s, NL) are fit and ready for the challenges ahead. 

Five fresh faces will suit up for the Black and Gold for the first time this season. Chelsea Slawter-Wright (Halifax, NS) will provide experience and leadership at point guard after spending two years in the CCAA with the Holland Hurricanes, while first-year Ariel Provo (Lake Echo, NS) will add depth and speed as a guard. 

Rounding out the 2017-18 squad are second-year guard Ashley Jackson (Chatham, ON), who is returning from an injury and first-year players Katelyn Scott (Riverview, NB) and Meghan Greenland (St. John’s, NL). Dzifa Quist is a third-year exchange student from the Netherlands who will red shirt for the Tigers this season.
