Queen's tops Tigers 77-48

(Halifax, N.S.) -Day three of the Thunder Selects Holiday Classic Women's Tournament concluded Friday, with the Homburg Centre hosting three afternoon games.

The 2 p.m. game saw the Queen's University Gaels defeat the Dalhousie Tigers 77-48.

Gemma Bullard (Guelph, Ont.) had 13 points for Queen's while teammates Marianne Alarie (Sudbury, Ont.) and Robyn Pearson (Toronto, Ont.) each had 12 points in the win.

Dal led 17-14 after 10 minutes and Queen's used a 12-6 second quarter score to take a 26-23 halftime lead.

Queen's outscored Dal 30-10 in the third quarter and led 56-33 after thirty minutes and a 21-15 final frame for Queen's saw the Gaels win 77-48.

Diedre Alexander (Woodstock, N.B.) paced Dal with 11 points while Robertha Charles (Montreal, Que.) had nine and Claire Hickman (St. John's, N.L.) seven.
