Shoot for the Cure

Shoot for the Cure

The women’s basketball Shoot for the Cure game is just around the corner! The event will take place during the team’s home opener on November 7 against UPEI.  Shoot for the Cure is an annual CIS wide women’s basketball event that helps raise funds for breast cancer research.

Carissa Poulin, a second-year women's basketball player, will be cutting 14 inches of her hair during the half time of the men’s game to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. She is getting closer and closer to her goal of raising $2000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. You can track Carissa’s progress and help her reach her goal here: http://www.gofundme.com/feervc

The women’s basketball team recently took part in the 23rd annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure. The event raised $25 million across Canada for breast cancer research, education and advocacy programs.

Come out to the Dalplex on November 7 at 6pm and help the women’s basketball team in their efforts to raise funds for breast cancer research.
