Tigers add Riis for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers track and field head coach Rich Lehman is pleased to announce the commitment of Izaak Riis for the 2025-26 season.
Dalhousie Tigers track and field head coach Rich Lehman is pleased to announce the commitment of Izaak Riis for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Riis has been a member of Adrenaline Athletics since 2023 where he won gold at the Atlantic championships in the 110m hurdles. Specializing in hurdles, the 6’2 athlete was also a part of Park View Education Centre track & field team where he won gold in the 4x400 at the 2023 Sports Schools Nova Scotia provincials. He also won silver in the 100m hurdles and silver in the 4x400 at the 2024 SSNS provincials. Riis also represented Team Nova Scotia in 2024 where he placed tenth at legion nationals in the 110m hurdles.
Izaak has personal bests of 15.09 in the U18 110m hurdles, 8.54 in the U20 60m hurdles and 6.02 in long jump.
“I am very excited to represent and attend Dal next year, this is the start of a new chapter in my track career and life, and I’m looking forward to new challenges.” Says Riis.
Riis will be studying kinesiology at Dalhousie.
“We are excited to welcome Izaak Riis to the Dalhousie Track & Field Team,” says coach Lehman. “Izaak is one of Nova Scotia’s top U20 sprint hurdlers. He will add depth to our men’s hurdles and jumps groups and have an immediate impact within the conference.”
The Tigers successfully defended their AUS track and field titles in Saint John, New Brunswick last month.
