Tigers add Conrad for 2022-23 season

Dalhousie Tigers track & field head coach Richard Lehman is pleased to announce the commitment of Austin Conrad for the 2022-23 season.

Hailing from Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia, Conrad has been competing for HaliFAST Athletics for the last three years, in addition to representing his high school team.

In 2019, Conrad won gold in the 60m hurdles at the Athletics Nova Scotia Club Championships, followed by a silver in the high jump at the Athletics Nova Scotia Indoor Open, and a bronze in the long jump at the Athletics Nova Scotia Last Chance Meet.

Conrad has personal bests of 1.90 metres in the high jump and 6.50 meters in the long jump.

“I’m stoked about coming to Dalhousie, it’s something I’ve been wanting for a very long time,” says Conrad.

Conrad will graduate from École Secondaire du Sommet this spring and has been accepted into Dalhousie’s Faculty of Engineering

“We're excited to add Austin to our men's jumps program,” says Lehman.  “As a HaliFAST athlete, he is already familiar with our team and coaching staff so we expect his transition to be very smooth. Austin has the ability to contribute in year one in all three jumps at the conference level.”

The men’s track and field recently defended their AUS championship title for the seventh consecutive year.
