Tigers add Routledge for 2021-22 season

Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of Kyle Routledge for the 2021-22 season.

A midfielder from Halifax, N.S., Routledge attends Citadel High School. A member of the 2019 and 2020 Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation (NSSAF) provincial championship winning soccer teams, he was Citadel’s top scorer last year and scored a hat-trick in the 2020 provincial semifinal this past fall.

He also plays for Halifax City Soccer Club and helped his U17 teammates win the 2019 Nova Scotia Soccer League championship, earning a spot at the Canada Soccer Toyota National Championship that fall. Before joining Halifax City, he was a member of the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy in Nova Scotia.

“I am excited and looking forward to a new adventure at Dalhousie,” says Routledge. “I hope to be able to help the team to an the AUS championship title next year.”

A member of the honour roll in 2019-20, Routledge is looking to earn a Bachelor of Science while at Dalhousie.

“We’re ecstatic to be adding Kyle to our Tiger family,” says Jazic. “Kyle is a very well-rounded student-athlete and a great competitor. He’s a box-to-box midfielder who is technically gifted, is a great passer with vision and has the ability to score goals. He’s a fantastic person and teammate. He makes everyone around him better and he works extremely hard for the team on both ends of the field. Kyle will be an important part of our program for years to come!”

The COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the 2020-21 season for the men’s soccer team.
