Dalhousie University’s Executive Director of Athletics & Recreation Tim Maloney is pleased to announce Alan Jazic as the new head coach of the Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer team.
A National B level coach, Jazic has a long history of success at local, provincial and national levels.
Jazic was an assistant coach with the Tigers for 10 years up until the end of the 2017 season and has been the head coach of the Western Halifax Durty Nelly’s Football Club of the Eastlink Premiership League since 2014. The 2018 Soccer Nova Scotia Soccer League Coach of the Year, he led them to a national championship title in 2017 and three consecutive provincial championship wins (2016-2018).
Before joining the Western Halifax Club, he was with the Halifax Dunbrack Soccer Club, serving as head coach of their senior men’s team for four seasons and technical director for three. He led them to a provincial championship win and a bronze medal finish at the national championship in 2010 and earned Soccer Nova Scotia League men’s coach of the year in 2009, 2010 and 2013.
He also coached within the Scotia Olympics Club from 1994-2006.

Before getting into coaching, Jazic played three seasons (1996-99) with the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association’s (ACAA) King’s College, earning two league championships. A two-time ACAA league all-star, he played seven years in the Nova Scotia Premier League with Dartmouth Moosehead and Scotia United.
“I’m extremely honoured and excited to be the next head coach of the Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer program,” says Jazic. “I would like to thank Tim Maloney for his trust in my ability to move this team forward and for making me a part of the Tigers family. I would also like to thank Pat Nearing for his many years of mentorship without which I would not be here today and my past players for teaching me how to be an effective coach. Lastly, I would like to thank my family for wholeheartedly embarking on this journey with me - it is a big commitment on everyone’s part. I can’t wait to get to know the players and work with them in moving the program forward in a new direction.”
A constable with Halifax Regional Police since 2008, Jazic is a community response officer in Halifax and will continue in that role along with his new coaching duties. He is from Halifax and shares two young daughters, Alessandra and Juliana with his wife Danielle.
Jazic will begin his coaching duties on March 1, 2020.
