Kirkwood joins Tigers for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey head coach Chris Donnelly is pleased to announce the commitment of Kaiden Kirkwood for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, the 6’2 goaltender played for the Lloydminster Bobcats in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, recording a .917 save percentage. Prior to playing on the Bobcats, Kirkwood played on the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, recording a .904 save percentage, and for the Gatineau Olympique’s in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League recording a .892 save percentage.
In 2023-24, Kirkwood was awarded fan favourite, and team top goaltender and this past season, he took home fan favourite, team MVP and was a team scholarship recipient.
“I'm super excited and honoured to have the opportunity to play for the Tigers starting next year.” Says Kirkwood. “I've heard nothing but great things about the culture and place, and I'm looking forward to helping the team have success starting next season.”
Kirkwood will be studying arts at Dalhousie.
“We are excited to be adding a goaltender with the junior experience Kaiden has enjoyed.” Says Donnelly. “He is a very committed individual, with a high performing attitude. An athletic goaltender, whose quickness allows him to challenge shooters and be very effective at his position.”
The Tigers open their 2025-26 season at UNB on October 3.
