(FREDERICTON, NB) Matthew Boucher (Los Angeles, Calif.) had two goals and two assists as the UNB Reds beat the Dalhousie Tigers 5-1 Friday night. 

Boucher's four-point night earned him Subway Player of the Game honours. 

Mark Rassell (Calgary, AB) also added two goals and an assist in the win. 

The Reds improve to 22-and-4 on the season and extend their current winning streak to nine games 

"The biggest games are coming up in the next month or two, so that's when we've got to be at our best," said Boucher. 

The Tigers fall to 5-17-2 with the loss. 

Samuel Dove-McFalls (Montreal, QC) got UNB rolling early, putting home the 1-0 goal just 42 seconds in. 

Michael Dill (Windsor, NS) would respond a few minutes later for the Tigers to tie the game 1-1. 

Dalhousie would then find themselves in penalty trouble, and they'd pay for it as Rassell chipped the puck past Connor Hicks (Kanata, ON) to restore UNB's one-goal lead heading into first intermission. 

The second period would begin with another early strike from the Reds as Boucher snapped a perfectly placed shot to the top corner just 36 seconds into the period. 

"If we can get the jump on teams early, you're really going to hop on a team and that will ruin their confidence for the night," said Rassell. 

UNB would lay a hard forecheck on Dalhousie throughout the second, keeping them without a shot for the first eight minutes and outshooting them 24-6. 

Penalties would again hurt the Tigers, with Boucher crashing the net to put home his second goal of the game, the Reds second with the man-advantage, and extend the lead to 4-1. 

Rassell would continue the Reds dominance on special teams, putting home his second with just 6.1 seconds left in the period. 

The two teams played a scoreless third to close out the 5-1 UNB win. 

The Reds outshot the Tigers 48-19. 

Sam Harvey (Alma, QC) made 18 saves for the Reds, while Hicks had 43 for Dal. 

The Reds will host the St FX X-Men on Saturday, in the 28th annual Mark Jeffrey Memorial Game. Game time is 7:00 pm. The Tigers head the Moncton to take on les Aigles Bleus, also a 7:00pm start.
