Tigers add Olugu for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of Samuel Olugu for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the 6’4 winger averaged 19 points, 8 rebound and 4 assists per game in his senior year at Halifax Grammar. Olugu has also represented Team Nova Scotia at Nationals in 2022 and 2024.
"I'm proud to be joining the Tigers. It's an amazing opportunity to grow as a player and person, compete at the university level, and contribute to a winning culture. I can't wait to get started and represent Dal."
Olugu will be studying engineering at Dalhousie.
“Sam will bring tremendous athleticism to the wing position.” Says Plato. “Sam’s real strength is in transition, and as he adjusts to the physicality of AUS competition, I have no doubt that he will develop into one of the more dynamic scoring threats in the conference over the coming years.”
The Tigers finished their season with a 6-13 record, outside of a playoff position.
