Tigers add Morris for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of Julian Morris for the 2025-26 season.
Dalhousie Tigers men’s basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of Julian Morris for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Morris plays for Canada Topflight Academy West. Before joining CTA West, the 6’3 guard was a member of the senior basketball team at Western Canada High School for three years. In Grade 11, Morris was the team’s leading scorer, averaging a double-double and earning the team MVP award in 2022-23 and 2023-24. In his senior year, he took on a leadership role, leading his team to provincials. He averaged 22 points per game during the season and 30 points per game in provincials.
“I’m excited to join Dalhousie and play for the Tigers,” says Morris. “The coaching staff, team environment, and commitment to excellence stood out to me. I look forward to competing, improving my game, and contributing to the team.”
Morris will be studying kinesiology at Dalhousie University.
“Julian is an extremely athletic wing who can effectively score in transition and is versatile defender whose athleticism will allow him to play multiple positions,” says Plato. “Julian possesses an excellent work ethic and a high degree of confidence which will be a significant addition to our line up. He will be counted on improve our perimeter defense, our rebounding, and multi-level scoring. Dalhousie will provide the perfect environment for Julian to flourish.”
The Tigers finished their season with a 6-13 record, outside of a playoff position.
