(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University men’s basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of Ryall Stroud to the 2016-17 Tigers lineup.

A transfer student, Stroud comes to the Tigers after an impressive four years at Queen’s University where he started every game in his final season and was a member of the Varsity Leadership Council. The 6’7 power forward helped lead the Gaels to an OUA conference quarter-final last season.

Stroud averaged nine points and five rebounds per game last year and will bring a high level of athleticism to the Tigers this upcoming season.

“I am really excited to come to Dal and play for the Tigers,” says Stroud. “We’ve got a great group of guys and coaching staff. I think we're going to have a very successful season.”

The Torontonian is enrolled in Dalhousie’s Corporate Residency MBA program.

“At 6'7, Ryall will have an immediate inside offensive presence, which we’ve been missing,” says Plato. “He brings a lot of maturity, experience and toughness which will make us a much deeper and more balanced offensive team.”

The Tigers home opener is on Friday, November 4 at 8:00pm against the CBU Capers.
