Flashback Friday (Mar. 18)

This week’s flashback Friday features our 1999 National Champion Women’s soccer team. The photo features; (back row L-R) Jaime Sawler (Asst. The Tigers captured both the AUS Championship and the CIS National Championship that season. Petra deWaard, Andrea Gillespie, and Stef Finateri were all named AUS first team all-stars for their superb play in the regular season. Julia Pigozzo was awarded the AUS Most Valuable Player award that season. Pigozzo would also be named a CIS first team all-star and deWaard and Finateri were named second team CIS all stars.

The Tigers traveled to Wilfred Laurier University for the CIS Championships where they defeated the University of Alberta Pandas 2-0 in the gold medal game to claim the title. Stef Finateri was named the CIS Championship MVP.
