This Friday, we will be flashing back to the 2002-03 Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey team.

In the front row (L-R) of this picture, we have J.F. Perras, Warren Holmes, Chris Stanley, Dan Tudin, David Walker, Chris Tellum, and Patrick Berrigan. In the middle row (L-R): Charles Hoyt, Mike Fletcher, Patrick Vincent, Bill Browne, Gary Zinck, Mark Lynk, and Miles Agar. In the back row (L-R): Ross McCain, Scott Wright, Mark Tanner, Andre Robichaud, Carl Mallette, Dominic Noel, Brad Pierce, Darrell Jerrett, Tyler Dunham, and Martin Gascon. Frederic Belanger was also on the team, but he is not featured in this picture.

The coaching staff for the team consisted of Fabian Joseph (head coach), Chuck Wheeler (President, Friends of Dalhousie Hockey Society), Kyle Penney (Physiotherapist), Jules LeBlanc (Video Coach), Doug MacNeil (Assistant Coach), Jaro Sevcik (Assistant Coach), Brian Melanson (Assistant Coach), and Mike Ross ( Equipment Manager).

During this hockey season, both J.F. Perras and Chris Stanley made the AUS first team all-stars and the CIS first team all-Canadians. Perras also made the AUS all-rookie team while Stanley was named the AUS most valuable player.

Moreover, Dan Tudin was awarded the James Bayer Memorial Scholarship Award. This award is presented annually to an outstanding student-athlete in Atlantic University Sport for excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, sportsmanship and citizenship. Tudin is the only Dalhousie men’s hockey player to have received the award since it was established in 1985. In 2002-03, Dan Tudin was also the winner of the AUS Godfrey Award. He earned the award from exhibiting outstanding achievement in hockey, academics, and community involvement.

The current 2015-16 men’s hockey team have their next home game in the new year on Friday, January 15, 2016. They will be playing the UNB Varsity Reds at the Halifax Forum, 7pm.
