Over the course of the week, we will be announcing our Varsity Award winners that would normally be honoured at our annual Black & Gold Athletic Awards Banquet, which has been cancelled due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.
CLIMO AWARD (male athlete of the year)
Keevan Veinot, Basketball
The men’s basketball co-MVP, Keevan Veinot became the first Dalhousie Tigers men’s basketball player to be named the Atlantic University Sport conference’s most valuable player after leading the Tigers to their second-straight AUS championship banner win.
He averaged a team-high 15.6 points per game and 5.5 assists per game playing in 19 of 20 regular season games this season. An AUS first team all-star, he was also named to the conference championship all-star team.
Keevan became the first Dalhousie men’s basketball player to be named a U SPORTS first team All-Canadian and was named to the national championship all-star team after leading the Tigers to a silver medal finish.
