The 2008 team entered the season determined to win their first AUS championship since 1999. Helped by an almost perfect 6-1 home record, the Tigers locked up the third seed in the AUS playoffs that year with a 7-4-2 regular season record. With strong performances from AUS all-stars Ross Hagen and Kerry Weymann (who was also the AUS rookie of the year), the Tigers advanced to the AUS championship game versus UNB. In the finals hosted by Mount Allison, the Tigers ultimately prevailed 1-0 with Dalhousie keeper Ben Ur winning MVP of the match.

The Tigers would later move on to the CIS championship hosted by Carleton University where they recorded a very strong sixth-place finish. Adding to the Tigers magic season, head coach Pat Nearing took home both AUS and CIS coach of the year honours.

The 2017-2018 men’s soccer team opens their season against UNB this Saturday at Wickwire Field.
